I did a reverse search on many of the topics involved in global warming and dealing with world hunger and found the number of searches for these items was incredibly low, when compared to "news" items.

I feel our news media has a solemn duty to properly keep these things in the public eye, so that people begin to understand the problem fully enough to change their behavours.

For example, many of the things we can do about global warming are, as simple as, turning out a light or offsetting our car usage; and if we add enough of them up, we can easily bring the world carbon emissions below that much talked about and little done 20% mark.

Do we really want this to be our future?

Of course not, nor do we want the ice to melt at the Poles.

Life is too short not to take the long view, don't we really want a paradise for us and our children. Let's just cut right through it isn't it the very best quality of life the legacy we want to give to the generations of life to come.

Greenbox's Amazing Efficiency Comment

"More than 130 tests carried out over two years at several testing centers have, the three say, yielded a capture rate between 85 and 95 percent."

If you think of this in terms of trees, let's say it takes 20 trees to sequester the carbon emissions of the average car.

That would mean with a 95% efficiency, you only have to plant 1 tree.
According to Greenfleet, 17 native trees will offset 4.36 tonnes of CO2-e.

Use fossil fuels more efficiently

Save old-growth forests, cut sustainably

Plant trees when you travel

1 tree every 2,000 miles (3200 km) by car
1 tree every 1300 miles (2000 km) by plane
1 tree every 100 gallons (375 liters) of gasoline
1 tree every 1000 kilowatt-hours (one kwhr ~= 1.9 pounds CO2)

Tropical tree planting works best

"When you plant trees to slow down global warming, you have to be careful where you do it. I think our study shows clearly the climate benefits are maximised if you plant them in the tropics," Dr Bala told BBC News.
